The 8th Global Slag Conference and Exhibition was a fantastic gathering of slag-related professionals from around the world. Slag continues to be both a problem and an opportunity - for both the iron and steel industry and for the cement and construction materials industries around the world.

7th Global Slag Conference 2011

17-18 November. Helsinki, Finland

The seventh Global Slag Conference and Exhibition took place on 17-18 November in Helsinki, Finland, where despite the cold climate, delegates from 28 countries received a warm welcome.

6th Global Slag Conference 2010

22-23 November, Sydney, Australia

The 6th Global Slag Conference took place with 135 delegates from 27 countries in attendance and strong delegations from Asia in particular – notably South Korea. 23 papers on slag products and applications were presented and delegates were also able to visit the BlueScope Steel plant and associated slag product processing facilities at Port Kembla near Wollongong.

 

5th Global Slag Conference 2009

23-24 November, Brussels, Belgium

The 5th Global Slag Conference has successflly taken place, with 140 delegates from nearly 40 countries.

4th Global Slag Conference 2008

10-11 November, Strasbourg, France

Including Field trip to ArcelorMittal's Florange plant on 12 November.

The conference successfully took place with 140 delegates from 35 countries enjoying technical and market presentations, networking opportunities and convivial social events.

 

3rd Global Slag Conference 2007

19-20 November. Istanbul, Turkey

The 3rd Global Slag Conference successfully took place in Istanbul, 19-20 November 2007, with 160 delegates from 29 countries, technical presentations, networking opportunities, the Global Slag Awards and the fabulous Gala Dinner cruise down the Bosphorus. The conference field trip visited the Bolu cement plant and Eregli steel plant.
